Professional Philosophy:

As a sex educator, I encourage authenticity through poetry, storytelling, and critical discourse. I motivate individuals, couples, and groups to pursue liberation and advance social justice by intentionally creating spaces that highlight the value of their voices. Inspired by James Baldwin, I approach change by first acknowledging life that exists beyond the norms of society. When administering sexuality education, I center intersecting identities and focus on humanizing curriculum by connecting the individual and the information. Integrating personal experience and creative expression into my pedagogy normalizes authenticity and identifies how heteronormativity excludes individuals.
