Biography, Degrees and Certifications:
Jillian (Jay) Watts (She/They) is a sexuality and diversity scholar, Intimacy coach and sex educator, activist, mom, and recent doctoral transfer student at the Teacher’s College at Columbia University (Ivy League) to study sexuality education; more specifically, erotic empowerment of survivors of trauma in QTPOC populations.
She has spoken at local, state, and national conferences. In addition, she had segments on NPR and reoccurring shows on Meeting in the Ladies Room Radio in Louisville, KY (106.5 FM). As an author, she has published in the Encyclopedia of Diversity & Social Justice and other academic publications in the areas of diversity, sexology, and education.
Her previous work has been in higher education, diversity, equity, and inclusion, LGBTQ, sex education, sexpert and intimacy coaching, and violence prevention. They were recently recognized by the Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly as a 2018 40 under 40 honoree, one of the youngest in her cohort, at the age of 29. They also do victim advocacy and survivor support through her non profit, The Center for Inclusive Sexuality Education and Healing.
She is proud to blend all of her work experience and passions into her company HappyHour Intimate Essentials, LLC. an intimacy mega store and education/coaching company. She developed this company to empower radical healing, support unapologetic inclusion, and build a strong foundation of sex education within communities on the margins.
“My central goal is to decolonize diverse bodies and demystify consensual sexuality to create more fulfilling relationships, break stereotypes, and develop greater spaces for healing. Jay has a new radio show on RadioIndy, HonesTea Hour with Jay Tha’ Sexologist, to center all of her goals and to create an inclusive space for sexuality education that grown folks can enjoy.
