In my role as a psychologist, I have specialized in helping people with a wide range of sexual and relationship difficulties since 1984. I support individuals and couples in their desire to create passion in their relationships and have happy, healthy sex lives.
I take an integrative, collaborative, positive approach to sexuality that includes warmth, wit, and mutual respect. We focus on finding creative solutions to your difficulties. Sometimes simple solutions are quickly discovered and adopted; other times an exploration of underlying contributors to the difficulty is very helpful in discovering the most effective solutions.
A willingness to actively engage in our sessions, along with your willingness to carry out between-session assignments, speeds the process. We jointly select helpful outside activities to effectively resolve your difficulty, such as:
•Learning effective communication, if partnered, to increase understanding and commitment
•Carrying out individual activities to improve self-esteem and body image
•Adopting sexy, healthy eating habits
•Starting a regular exercise routine
•Practicing relaxation and stress management techniques
•Learning sensual touch
•Writing about sexual thoughts and feelings
•Reading outside material
•Consulting with a physician, if warranted
If you avoid active participation, we look for underlying barriers and move beyond them.
